I had the honor of working for Laurie two years earlier when she sold their fabulous family ranch located between Mason and Fredericksburg. When she contacted me about selling her home on Hawthorn I knew she was ready to close up her Hill Country Chapter and move north to be closer to her grown children and her grandchildren. A special decision to be closer to family and a bitter sweet sale for me.

Laurie built her home on Hawthorn in 2015 with Ricky Durst of Durst Homes. Her and her late husband, Mark, made the move to this in-town property to be closer to the conveniences of town as Mark’s health declined. He lived with a joyful heart even though he also lived with a terminal illness and because they were my neighbors, I got to see first hand the selfless love and care Laurie had for Mark in this difficult time.

Over the last few years I have gotten to know Laurie. She a fun & loving lady and Fredericksburg won’t be the same without her. I’m look forward to seeing photos of grandkid cookie decorating and lake day trips with her family. A joy I will share in as she creates memories that will last a lifetime with people she loves dearly. I am excited for what is to come in her next adventure. She deserves it.
